I like this – visual representation of what TRILLION dollars looks like. A trillion looks like this numerically: 1,000,000,000,000. Kind of impressive, but not as impressive as a picture. It’s all about the visuals!

Advergamer / MBX

http://www.advergamer.co.uk/

have a meeting with the guys from on friday and talked through their game creation & seeding service, interesting stuff. Chris just sent me this youtube video of a game they created recently. It’s a real time multi-player first person shooter, made in flash. Which is quite clever. Turn your sound off, unless you’re into headaches.

http://ifonlyblog.wordpress.com/2010/02/11/vw-gti-iphone-app-case-study/

How many car companies would have the guts to put their entire marketing budget into an Iphone app as VW did for the launch of their 2010 GTi? , and if you can bear the voiceover, watch the video here.

Wacom Tablets: Community Included

http://thenextweb.com/socialmedia/2010/02/12/wacom-not-just-tablets/

This is a great article about how Wacom tablets used creativity to build a community.

The surprising thing is that none of the activities in their own right are necessarily that ground breaking, they simply tap into the motivations of their various customer segments.

Wow… frustrated by the waste in the pitch process in Belgium, 24 major agencies have gone on virtual strike. I love the creative execution of this… an open letter to the industry, spread out across all 24 agencies home pages, with the rest of their web content ‘closed’. Genius.

http://www.davedoesdigital.com/home/davedoes/public_html/wp-content/media/2010/02/prezi.jpg

Last night the wife was out, so I got to spend a couple of hours geeking out with Prezi. I was shown this at a meeting the other day and was initially really impressed.

It’s can be difficult to establish a point of difference when doing creds, and if you’re the last in a long line of agencies to meet a client, having a presentation that really stands out can make a huge difference. Of course great content & delivery remain the most important factors, but it never hurts to think of additional ways to stand out.

So Prezi is a really clever, visual way of showing presentations, allowing you to incorporate images, videos and text seamlessly, whilst showing it all with a really clever flash user interface. It’s difficult to describe, so instead, check out the Prezi below. It’s not one of mine, but not only is it a great demo, it’s also really useful information!

In my two hours of geeking I was able to create a usable presentation and master most of the tools. Have a play and let me know what you think.

a campaign

http://www.wiredinsider.com/repomen/

I like this… to promote the film Repoman, Universal Pictures are working with Wired Magazine on to see if a member of the public can go on the run and avoid being caught for longer than 25 days. They’re looking for people who can ‘leave their lives behind’ for the chance to win $10,000.

Embedding Twitter searches in your blog

I knocked this up as a quick demo for someone internally here: http://www.davedoesdigital.com/twitter-demo/

Using a WordPress plugin WP TwitterSearch and a single line of shortcode, you can have a constant stream of specific twitter search results on either a Page or Post within less than a minute.

they’re doing social media pretty well, firstly by being brave (getting rid of their website and replacing it with a twitter feed), and now by making an infinite stream of weirdness on their website homepage. brave = viral & social.
