You may have heard about Facebook changing their Connect service last week to Open Graph. I’ve been having a play around with the technology on my blog and it’s pretty cool.
At a basic level it allows you to add a ‘Like’ button to posts, which, when clicked on by facebook logged in visitors, adds their name to the bottom of the post and posts a link to your article directly into their wall. Have a look right at the bottom of this post for the like button, and try giving it a click.
Also check out the comments login feature below that, which allows users to login using their facebook credentials and share their comments directly on Facebook.
Finally, once set up your blog gets it’s own facebook application wall. Click the image above to see that in action (although it’s sparse as I’ve not done anything to it yet!)
The whole thing took less than 30 minutes to set the whole thing up, but it brings a great social element to a blog and means even greater potential viral spread for your content.
